Itinerary

Upon your arrival at the airport, a Gorkha Himalayan Trek Team member is going to be watching for you with a placard. They’re going to assist you with transportation to your trip hotel in Kathmandu. We’ll hold a short meeting at the hotel to clarify the trip details. After the meeting, no further activities are scheduled, allowing you time to rest or explore as you want. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Kathmandu.

On your second day, start with an early breakfast and ensure your journey to Pokhara. go by bus through Nepal's scenic countryside, featuring giant hills, distant mountain vistas, rural villages, terraced farms, and flowing rivers. Upon arrival in Pokhara, called the town of lakes and mountain scenery, check over your hotel. If you're up for it, enjoy a night walk around the vibrant lakeside city. Overnight occupy a hotel in Pokhara.

From Birethanti, the trail winds through bamboo forests, beside large waterfalls, and past inviting swimming holes. After crossing a pasture frequented by caravans, you’ll reach Ramghai for lunch. The trek then ascends gradually to Tike Dhunga.
Beyond Tikhe Dhunga, you’ll cross a river via a bridge and face the challenge of climbing 3300 stone steps to reach the renowned Magar village of Ulleri. Though the climb could seem daunting, it offers a pleasing experience with regular encounters of caravans and mule carts navigating the steps. This segment of your trek is rich in natural beauty and cultural interactions.

As you permit Ulleri, your journey takes you through a fascinating forest, following a meticulously laid stone path that pulls you deeper into the Himalayas' embrace. This challenging segment of the trek is rewarded with glimpses of majestic peaks like Hiunchuli, Tukuche Peak, Dhaulagiri, and also the Annapurnas, igniting a way of awe. Rest areas nestled within the whispering woods offer tranquility, and crossings over babbling streams lead you to Nangethanti, where you pause for a midday meal during this wild haven.
From Nangethanti, the ascent to Ghorepani takes you through landscapes adorned with vibrant alpine flora, inhaling the crisp mountain air. As day transitions to nighttime, the picturesque village of Ghorepani offers a peaceful retreat, nestled among mountain silhouettes and a cover of stars. Here, you rest before the first-morning trek to Poon Hill, renowned for its breathtaking sunrise views over the Himalayan peaks.

A pre-dawn start fuels the fun of anticipation as you start up a 45-minute climb up Poon Hill, equipped with water, flashlights, and cameras. The challenging slope leads you to a panoramic reward at the summit. Because the sun rises, it casts a fiery glow over the majestic Himalayas, illuminating the peaks of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, and also the iconic Fishtail Peak.

After witnessing this magnificent sunrise, return to your guesthouse for a well-deserved hearty breakfast. Your journey then continues along a scenic ridgeline, through a captivating rhododendron forest to Deurali. This picturesque village, nestled amidst rolling hills and luxurious woodlands, leads you to Tadapani, where you may rest for the night, surrounded by breathtaking beauty.

Descending from Tadapani, you will be treated to a surprising view of the Upper Modi Valley. The trail takes you high above the geographical area of the Modi Khola, offering a novel perspective of the landscape. As you labor under the village of Chhomrong, which lies at the bottom of Himal Chuli, keep an eye fixed out for local wildlife, including birds and grey Langur monkeys.

From Chhomrong, the trail descends to Chhomrong Khola before gradually ascending to Sinuwa. Here, during this tranquil setting, you’ll find your accommodation for the night, allowing you to rest and rejuvenate before the subsequent day's adventures within the heart of the Himalayas.

After an early breakfast, your trek continues towards Kuldighar. As you progress, the trail clears through a forest and reaches a steep bank of rocks. The trail then levels out and runs through a dense thicket of bamboo at the underside of the gorge, alongside the side of the river. You'll pass a serene pasture and reach the narrowest part of the gorge at Pantheon Barah, where a little trail and a shrine await. Your journey for the day concludes at Deurali, where you'll spend the night, surrounded by the peaceful ambiance of the mountains.

Today marks the climax of your adventure—the trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)! Starting early, you ascend through the Annapurna Sanctuary, following the Modi Khola River. The trail leads you to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) where you'll pause briefly to collect strength for the ultimate leg.
With renewed vigor, you continue your ascent to ABC. As you climb, the imposing Mount Annapurna rises majestically before you, drawing you closer with each step. Upon arrival, ABC unveils its breathtaking panorama, encircled by the towering peaks of the Annapurna range and its neighboring giants. Here, amidst these monumental mountains, you’ll spend the night, immersed within the awe-inspiring fantastic thing about the Himalayas.

As you bid farewell to the majestic Annapurna Base Camp, your journey leads you downhill towards Bamboo Village. Retracing your steps back along the Modi Khola, you descend gradually through the identical beautiful landscapes that welcome you on your ascent. Nestled among mountains, the quaint village of Bamboo offers a peaceful setting for your overnight stay, providing a tranquil end to a different day within the Himalayas.

Today, you depart from Bamboo and head towards Jhinu Danda. The trail takes you through the scenic slopes, descending from Chhomrong via Kuldi Ghar. Upon reaching Jhinu Danda, you'll experience crossing one of the longest and tallest suspension bridges in Kaski district. From there, you are taking a repulse to Pokhara. Upon arrival, you have the choice to rest or explore by taking a stroll around the lakeside, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the town.

The journey from Pokhara back to Kathmandu could be a 6-7 hour drive. This scenic route gives you one last chance to enjoy the attractive landscapes of Nepal, from rural villages and terraced fields to river views and also the distant outlines of the mountains. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you'll be able to settle into the urban environment, reflecting on the memories of your adventure.

Day 12 :
Departure

After breakfast, a representative from the Gorkha Himalayan Trek Team will pick you up and make sure you are dropped off at the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled departure, allowing ample time for check-in and security procedures. Safe travels!
