Itinerary

On the primary day of your Tamang Heritage Trek, you'll start with an early breakfast before embarking on a three-hour hike to Ronga Bhanjyang. This rocky path offers magnificent views of the Ganesh Himal, Gosaikunda range, and Goljung Valley. After descending to Goljung Valley and enjoying a lunch break, you'll continue for an additional three hours to Gatlang. This picturesque Tamang village features traditional stone houses and offers a deep insight into local customs and culture. In Gatlang, you'll explore the traditional monastery and also the sacred Parvati Kund.

Today, your journey on the Tamang Heritage Trek leads from Gatlang to Tatopani. Starting with a descent, you'll go past chortens, mani walls, and through dense woodlands, reaching Thambuchet near the serene lake formed by the Chilime Hydropower Dam. You'll then ascend past terraced farms and cross a bridge to Gonggang Village, where you'll pause for lunch. The trail from Gonggang gently climbs to Tatopani. Here, you'll like a natural outflow bath, believed by locals to appease all aches and pains. This segment of the trek offers a combination of cultural and natural insights, enhancing the experience.

After breakfast, your Tamang Heritage Trail trek progresses through the woodlands, with the trail gradually gaining elevation through various ups and downs. After two hours, you'll reach the scenic area of Brimdang. Continuing for an additional two hours, you'll reach Nagthali Danda, where you will have lunch while enjoying the panoramic views of the Tibetan Himal, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Shishapangma. Here, you'll be able to also visit several small monasteries. the ultimate destination for the day is Thuman, a Tamang village known for its hospitable residents who enjoyment of sharing their Tibetan-style singing and dancing. you'll spend the night in an exceedingly local tea house, immersing yourself in the cultural ambiance of the region.

Today's segment of the Tamang Heritage Trail Trek takes you to Briddhim, a village situated across the valley from the Bhote Koshi River. The trek begins with a gentler section, then descends to Timure along the old trade route to Tibet, where you'll stop for lunch. From Timure, it's only a three-hour trek to Rasuwaghadi, a historic fort on the Nepal-Tibet border. Post-lunch, the trail climbs steeply to a ridge offering expansive views of the mountains and surrounds before entering a forest stuffed with rhododendrons, pines, and oaks. Your journey concludes in Briddhim, another Tamang village enriched with Tibetan influences. Here, you'll spend the night in a local home, providing an authentic and immersive cultural experience.

Today, as you continue your Tamang Heritage Trail Trek from Briddhim village towards the Lama Hotel, you're set for a six-hour journey. The route takes you across the Bhote Koshi valley, through lush jungles crammed with bamboo and birch groves, alongside terraced fields and rustic settlements. Keep a watch out for rare local wildlife, including red pandas, along the trail. You'll ascend gently to Rimche via Bamboo Village, located along the scenic Langtang River. Your trek concludes at the Lama Hotel, where you'll rest for the night, nestled amidst the serene natural surroundings.

As your journey on the Tamang Heritage Trek nears its end, today marks your return to Syabrubesi after a pleasant breakfast. the bulk of the trail descends through beautiful forests, offering you the prospect to enjoy breathtaking views of verdant hills and distant mountains. Along the way, you'll traverse several traditional villages, where you'll be able to observe and appreciate the local customs and culture of the ethnic groups residing there. After a series of captivating adventures and hour-long hikes, you'll finally arrive back at Syabrubesi. Here, you'll unwind and savor your last night on the trek by visiting the natural spring, an ideal thanks to relax and reflect on your incredible experiences.

Today marks the conclusion of your Tamang Heritage Trail adventure as you board a bus from Syabrubesi back to Kathmandu. Starting with an early breakfast, your journey to Kathmandu traverses terraced fields, rural communities, alongside rivers, and over high hills, amid views of lush, green forests near the Trishuli River. You'll arrive in Kathmandu late in the evening, likely tired from the day's travel. Tonight offers an opportunity to explore the tourist areas of Thamel, where you'll be able to relax and luxuriate in the colorful atmosphere. it is also a superb opportunity to go to the historical and cultural landmarks that outline Kathmandu's unique character.

On your final day in Kathmandu, a staff member will accompany you to Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before your scheduled departure time. Enjoy breakfast before your journey home, marking the end of your memorable adventure in Nepal.
