You’ll begin your hike at Syabrubesi, a Tamang village, and follow the Langtang River to the Lama Hotel. The following day, the trek ascends to the big Tamang community of Langtang Village, and from there to Kyanjin Gompa. You’ll spend daily acclimatizing at Kyanjin Gompa, possibly visiting local sites just like the yak cheese factory and nearby peaks.

Your journey continues through the stunning Langtang Valley to Gosaikunda, trekking through Thulo Syabru and Shin Gompa to achieve this sacred lake. After exploring Gosaikunda, you’ll traverse the Laurebina La High Pass, making your way through the picturesque Helambu region to Ghopte, then descend through rhododendron and pine forests to Kutumsang, Pati Bhanjyang, and at last Chisapani. On the Day of Judgement, you trek from Chisapani to Sundarijal and catch a bus back to Kathmandu, completing a journey rich in culture, tradition, and breathtaking Himalayan views.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Gorkha Himalayan Trek, holding a signboard, will meet you outside and opposite the terminal hall. They will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel, ensuring a smooth start to your adventure in Nepal.

As you travel towards Syabrubesi, you will be greeted with stunning vistas of rivers, terraced farmlands, quaint villages, and snow-capped mountains. Following the Trishuli River and ascending to Dhunche, you'll enjoy views of the Annapurna I, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and various other peaks. Upon arriving in Syabrubesi, take the chance to stretch and explore this charming town before settling sure the night at a neighborhood teahouse. Throughout Nepal's trekking routes, these simple yet cozy teahouses provide a warm, welcoming place to rest, offering basic but delicious meals and cozy beds, ensuring a rejuvenating experience after each day's journey on the Langtang Valley Trek.

Begin your journey from Syabrubesi along the Langtang valley trail, tracing the Bhote Koshi River's origins. Pause at Guru Rinpoche Gomba for prayers before descending alongside Langtang Khola. Pass a span on the way to Bamboo, nestled in an exceedingly scenic canyon with guest cottages. Trek through a subtropical forest rich in diverse flora and fauna. Ascend gradually to achieve Lama Hotel, a comfortable resting spot surrounded by woodland, offering various accommodation options by the river.

Embark from Lama Hotel to Langtang village, beginning with a gradual ascent through oak, maple, and rhododendron forests alongside Langtang Khola. Enjoy panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, especially Mt. Langtang. Undergo the Ghodatabela meadow, cross a wooden bridge, traverse yak pastures, and ascend through rhododendron forests to achieve the Tamang settlement. Admire Tibetan-style homes with intricately carved wooden windows and fields enclosed by stone walls, cultivating turnips, potatoes, barley, and more.

Commence your Langtang Valley trek from Langtang village after breakfast. Wind around Mani Walls, ascend the ridge to succeed in Mundu, crossing brooks and wooden bridges. Continue through moraines, witnessing Kyanjin Gompa settlement and glaciers from Kimshung and Langtang Lirung peaks. Descend to achieve Kyanjin Gompa, visit the monastery, and admire panoramic views of Dorje Lhakpa, Langshisha Ri, Ganja La, Tsergo Ri, and other mountains within the area.

Explore breathtaking vistas around Kyanjin Gompa. Attend matins at Kyanjin Gompa, then hike to Tserko RI (4984 m) for stunning views of snow-capped peaks and therefore the entire Langtang range. Alternatively, go for the gentler ascent to Kyanjin RI (4773 m), which still offers a 360-degree vista of snow-covered mountains, valleys, and lakes. Return to your guesthouse in Kyanjin Gompa for one more night after enjoying the scenic hikes.

After enjoying breakfast with stunning views of snow-capped peaks, you’ll start your day’s trek. The trail retraces the route along the Langtang River, passing through renowned yak herding villages and expansive alpine pastures until reaching Langtang village. From there, you'll head towards Ghodatabela and so descend swiftly to the Lama Hotel. Here, you'll be able to go over the well-known local teahouse. Take the chance to relax and luxuriate in the serene atmosphere, with views of pines and rhododendrons gently swaying within the mountain breeze.

After a hearty breakfast at Lama Hotel, you’ll shut down and continue your Langtang with Gosaikunda Lake Trek, heading towards Thulo Syabru. The day begins with a descent to the banks of the Langtang River, following a crossing at a captivating small waterfall. As you trek, you'll tolerate diverse forests comprising birch, oak, pine, bamboo, and rhododendron, which give habitat to wildlife like wild boars and monkeys. Along the way, you will be treated to stunning vistas of Ganesh Himal.

The journey progresses, and after some hours of trekking and crossing a span, you reach Thulo Syabru. This beautiful Tamang village could be a significant and picturesque settlement within the Langtang region. Despite its small size and population, Thulo Syabru offers an upscale cultural experience, and it'll only take some hours to explore this lovely village.

Today, your trek from Thulo Syabru progresses towards Shin Gompa, surrounded by gorgeous scenery and expansive mountain vistas. After a hearty breakfast, you'll begin a challenging ascent, which ends up in a shocking stupa offering distant views of Thurman and Nagthali. Continuing your journey, you'll reach Forpang Danda some hours later, where you'll pause for lunch.

Post-lunch, the trail winds higher, meandering through dense woodland. The pathways become increasingly vibrant with blooming flowers, enhancing the trek's beauty. After ascending a little set of stairs through the forests, you reach Shin Gompa. Here, the breathtaking mountain peaks of Langtang, Ganesh, and Annapurna function a dramatic backdrop. Shin Gompa offers not only spiritual serenity but also spectacular views of the encompassing valleys and landscapes, making it a memorable point in your trek.

Today's segment of your trek from Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda is going to be more difficult than yesterday. Starting with breakfast at Shin Gompa, your trail begins with a gradual ascent and then progresses along a rocky, narrow path. As you ascend, you'll navigate barren slopes and face brisk, freezing winds. After hiking for about an hour and a half, you'll reach Cholangpati.

From Cholangpati, the panorama expands to incorporate breathtaking views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Langtang Ri. The journey continues for one more 2.5 hours to Lauribina. From Lauribina, a two-hour ascent will take you to the Buddha Temple, a big and serene waypoint on your route. You'll conclude your day at Gosaikunda, checking into an area teahouse. Here, you’ll have the chance to explore the world and its array of sacred lakes, immersing yourself in the tranquil and spiritual atmosphere of this revered place.

Today, your trek on the Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Lake itinerary leads you through the scenic Helambu region via the Laurebina La High Pass. The trail initially descends from the lodges at Gosainkunda Lake so ascends steeply as you approach the northwest side towards Laurebina La Cross. Along the way, you may travel to three smaller lakes before reaching the pass, marked by a stone stupa and fluttering prayer flags.

Laurebina La Pass is one of the numerous highlights of the trek. After crossing the pass, you still High Camp and so descend into a broad valley heading towards Phedi. The trail from Phedi becomes steeper and rockier. You'll eventually descend to a footbridge over a stream and continue the challenging trek to Surya Kunda, a good-looking lake. The route from Phedi to Ghopte involves long climbs, demanding endurance and careful footing, but the views and therefore the experience is profoundly rewarding. Once you hit Ghopte, you'll be able to relax and reflect on the journey through this remarkable landscape.

After breakfast in Ghopte, today's trek on the Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda itinerary takes you through a tranquil and secluded stretch characterized by forests of juniper, rhododendron, and pine. Soon, you may encounter an outsized meadow where a ruined shepherd’s cottage stands, offering picturesque views of the Gangchempo and Dorje Lakpa peaks. Continuing the descent, the slope steepens because the path leads towards Mangengoth.

The journey progresses, crossing Kyuola Bhanjyang, then begins a mild descent to the village of Kutumsang. This part of the trek provides a various experience, transitioning from highland meadows and serene forests to charming local settlements, supplying you with insights into both the natural and cultural landscapes of the region.

After leaving Kutumsang, today’s portion of your trek begins with a short ascent, followed by a descent into Gul Bhanjyang Village. From there, the trail climbs again, reaching the wide, dusty road of Thorong Danda. The journey continues on a rocky, steep path resulting in Chipling village. After Chipling, you create your thanks to Pati Bhanjyang, a village situated between Chipling and Chisapani.

From Pati Bhanjyang, a mild descent of about half an hour brings you to Chisapani, an area celebrated for its stunning panoramic views of several mountains. This final stretch provides a rewarding conclusion to your trek, offering expansive vistas that showcase the majestic fantastic things about the Himalayas.

Today, from Chisapani, you commence the ultimate leg of your trek, a four-hour journey to Sundarijal. The trail is predominantly flat or downhill, providing an agreeable and scenic walk. You may undergo Borlang Bhanjyang and enter the luxurious environs of Shivapuri Park, traversing forested areas to achieve Mulkharka. From there, the trail leads you additional downhill through serene woods and tiny valleys.

As you approach Sundarijal, you may navigate past several water reservoirs and substantial water pipelines, integral to the installation of Kathmandu. Upon reaching Sundarijal, your Langtang with Gosaikunda Lake Trek officially concludes. A one-hour drive will then take you back to Kathmandu, where you'll reflect on the incredible experiences and landscapes you've encountered during your trek.

On your final day in Kathmandu, a staff member will accompany you to Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before your scheduled departure time. Enjoy breakfast before your journey home, marking the end of your memorable adventure in Nepal.
